Hope is real with Oxfam this Christmas

We at Picturehouse are proud to be supporting Oxfam, as we hope you’ll agree the incredible work they do to help end to poverty is worth celebrating. We’ll be hosting Oxfam volunteers in selected sites on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December. The teams will be raising money for Oxfam and will be ready to tell you more about their work.

This Christmas, Oxfam want to share with you untold stories of hope. Think of places like Iraq and Haiti and you’d be forgiven if good news, hope, optimism aren’t the first things that spring to mind. But from families returning home and restarting their lives after conflict to ingenious street lights that are keeping people safe at night, this Christmas you can find hope in even the most unexpected places.

Oxfam volunteers will be at the following sites:

Phoenix Picturehouse, Oxford
Arts Picturehouse, Cambridge
Exeter Picturehouse
Harbour Lights, Southampton

If you’re catching a film this weekend at any of the above sites, look out for an Oxfam volunteer to find out some more information on what they do and how you can help.
