PH-Recommends-logoOwen Suskind, like so many with autism, has an ‘affinity’, in his case with Disney animated films. Through repeated viewings of classics such as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, Owen found useful tools to help him understand complex social cues and to re-connect with his family and the world around him.

The new documentary film Life, Animated charts Owen’s journey and will be released in UK cinemas 9th December (you can watch the trailer here).

Owen and his family will be in London next week to hold special “Disney Clubs” in two Picturehouse Cinemas.

Come join Owen as he presents his favourite clips from Beauty And The Beast and invites audience members to discuss the scenes with him.

Parents, teachers and carers are welcome too, and the National Autistic Society will also present a VR experience to help explain what it might be like to get too much information.

This event is aimed at people aged with ASD – families and carers of those with ASD are also very welcome. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
