Can A Great Man Be A Good Man?
Steve Jobs, the highly anticipated film about the late Apple co-founder, lands in cinemas today. Danny Boyle directs the film, which features a stunning script by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and a mesmerising, Oscar-worthy lead performance from Michael Fassbender in the title role. Switch your phones off and enjoy one of the best films of the year.
“Ridiculously entertaining” ★★★★★ – Empire
“Danny Boyle delivers an exhilarating portrait of the visionary tech mastermind” ★★★★ – Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
“Bold, different and deserves to be seen by everyone” – Wired
Condensed into the span of three groundbreaking product launches, Boyle’s film shows Jobs fiercely pursuing his ambitions. In the process he alienates many of those close to him, including original Apple partner Steve Wozniak (Rogen), ex-girlfriend Chrisann (Katherine Waterston, Inherent Vice) and daughter Lisa. His chief sparring partners are his colleague Joanna Hoffman (Winslet) and John Sculley (Jeff Daniels), who was Apple’s CEO for ten critical years.
Fassbender is magnificent in the latest of his diverse roles, and the script by Aaron Sorkin is entertainingly muscular.
We’re giving away an Apple Watch to four lucky patrons who watch the film at a Picturehouse Cinema in the first seven days of release. Book for a screening before Friday 20 November for the chance to win!
