In November, Picturehouse Cinemas and Hachette Children’s Books ran a special competition to coincide with our Kids’ Club screening of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2. Entrants were asked to draw their own dragons for a chance to win a full a full set of How to Train Your Dragon books signed by author Cressida Cowell. Watch the video here.
The winner, as chosen by Cressida, was eight-year-old Adeline Boulet, who said:
“I am so absolutely excited that I won! I want to be a writer when I grow up. I have written a book about dragons already. I can’t wait to read all the books I won because I love reading! Thank you very much, I feel over the moon!”
Adeline was chosen not only for her very creative collage picture, but also for the story about Dragon Firebreath that accompanied it.
Two runner-ups were also chosen: six-and-a-half-year-old Otis Wood, and seven-year-old Benjamin Hughes.
Here is Benjamin’s entry. He has named the dragon species the Deadly Speedor, and this dragon’s name is Spiketail. The dragon has three heads: one shoots toxic gas, one shoots flame, and one shoots lightning.
Otis’s dragon is called Eagle Bones.
