UK Box Office 18-20 September

District 9 was knocked off its perch this weekend by Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs released in 2D, 3D and Imax. Meatballs claimed  the top spot with just over £1.3m. Other new entries this week included Gamer which opened in fifth and The Firm which opened at number nine.

Sam Mendes’ Away We Go, another new entry, was the number two film at Picturehouse cinemas and just crept into the UK list in tenth spot.

Julie & Julia remained the number one film at Picturehouses and slipped one spot in its second week to seventh in the UK Top Ten.
