Hits & Misses – Ugly Truth pips G. I. Joe and Coco sticks around
Rom-com The Ugly Truth knocked Harry Potter off the top of the UK Box Office managing just shy of £2m from 401 cinemas (including previews), and coming in just ahead of another new arrival, G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, with £1.7m from 443 cinemas.
Coco Before Chanel held up well from its opening week, a 40% drop kept the Picturehouse Recommends title just inside the top ten. Another Recommends title, Mesrine: Killer Instinct, opened in 55 cinemas with a screen average of £2,264, grossing £124,564.
Surprise comedy hit The Hangover enjoys its 9th week in the top ten having grossed over £21m in the UK to date.
The weekend’s big losers making room for the newcomers were, Bruno with a 67% drop, and Land of the Lost down 71% in only its second week.
Next week look out for Sin Nombre, which previewed at several Picturehouse Cinemas on Sunday garnering some great audience reactions.
